Stuffing For Brains

I go to a craft group called Atlanta Church of Craft (there are Church of Craft groups all over the country, and maybe even in Canada, so if you're looking for a craft group, look up Church of Craft in a nearby city). The very first time I went, I didn't have a project to work on... and I was all shy and worried. My friend had the book, Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller. I flipped around through it and found this adorable little drawstring bag. The pattern actually says to make it with something like an E hook, but I wanted a purse sized bag, so I made it with an H/8 or something, instead. I liked the way it turned out in the end and gave it to my future sister-in-law as a gift.
This bag was made with Caron Simply Soft Brites, Blue Mint. My anthropologist friend, to whom I gave an amigurumi skull, really liked the bag when she saw it finished. So, for her birthday, I made one for her in bright green, her favorite color, using Caron Simply Soft Brites, Limelight.
The only difference, apart from the color, between the green bag and the blue bag is that I made the green bag with little flower dongles, because I didn't like the dongles on the original pattern very much. They were weird clover shaped things that claimed to be hearts. lol So I just hunted through the Googles looking for pretty motifs and found this pattern. Making this particular flower motif, I had to learn how to do a cluster stitch, which was cool. :D

Both bags were made in July of 2009.
